A Preview of Taylor Swift's 2012 Album?
Taste of Country has a great breakdown of the songs and inspiration for Taylor's upcoming album.
She's already said that her new albums will have a 'sad' vibe - which I'm not really sure how that'll work out. Music is her therapy, it seems and she always has a way of turning those tough moments into anthems we all come to love. Maybe she'll just be continuing to work through some of those feelings.
Apparently, she still has a lot of them. Taylor told Ryan Seacrest that she was already 25 songs written for her new album - so there's plenty of material to choose. So, what doesn't make it into the album, I kind of expect an double CD or DVD pack come come out later. She's been in non-stop writing mode while on tour, too, saying, “Being so busy, there’s not a lot of time to stop in the middle of the day and just kind of think about this feeling that you just realized about a relationship you had a year ago.” Even with all that writing, though, it seemes her favprite ideas come the most quickly. She explained, “The ones I love the most end up happening very quickly.”
Her dad said that Taylor's been “VERY excited about for a VERY long time,” speaking of ‘Safe and Sound’ she performed with the Civil Wars for ‘The Hunger Games’ movie soundtrack. The darker sounds of themes of the song seem a bit out of line with Taylor's typical sound - so perhaps she's excited for a change of pace. So, Taylor (and her dad) like the new sound - what do you think?
